UDW Executive Director Doug Moore thanks President Biden for his service to our nation

SAN DIEGO – UDW Executive Director Doug Moore released this statement following the news that President Joe Biden is withdrawing from the presidential race:

“Today, we acknowledge the significant decision by President Joe Biden to step down from the presidential race. President Biden has dedicated his career to public service, championing the rights of working families, seniors, and people living with disabilities. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing policies that align with the values and mission of UDW.

“President Biden’s tenure has been marked by steadfast support for healthcare access, workers’ rights, and social justice. His commitment to protecting and expanding programs like Medicaid, Social Security, and the Affordable Care Act has been crucial in ensuring that millions of Americans receive the care and support they need.

“It is without a doubt that the Biden-Harris administration is the most pro-labor administration in our lifetimes. His contributions have laid a foundation for future leaders to build upon, continuing the fight for equality, justice, and opportunity for all.

“I personally stood with President Biden when he signed a historic executive order in April of 2023, dedicating $750 billion dollars to expand access to long-term care and child care and improve wages for home care workers and family child care providers.

“UDW remains committed to advocating for the needs of our members and the communities we serve. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of home care and family child care providers are heard and that their invaluable contributions are recognized and supported.

“We will continue to work to ensure the next President of the United States shares in our values and will be a strong advocate for working families and will fight for the future of long-term care in our nation.”
