In January, UDW hosted a weeklong International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) event, bringing together domestic workers from around the world for cultural conversations, interactive exercises, and the exchange of insightful tools in the fight for domestic workers’ rights.
Over the course of the week, domestic workers honed their skills by reinforcing solidarity, demonstrating leadership, building meaningful connections, and unifying the organization through strategic planning. As they deeply reflected on the essential care they provide daily, they engaged in exercises designed to enhance their effectiveness with purpose, root themselves in that purpose, and act in alignment with a shared vision.
The IDWF is a unified organization with 90 affiliates across 69 countries. Its mission is to amplify domestic workers’ voices in policy dialogues and negotiations, advancing the fight for their rights!
